In these hard economic times, pro bono is awful hard to come by.
In an international collaboration, paper sculptor Sjors Trimbach (www.sjorstrimbach.com) and I have created a free robot figure, Thought Processor. (Sjors is based in the Netherlands and I am in SF) The figure is based on paintings I am working on for my solo show coming up on the 28th of this month with Gallery 1998 www.88point5.com
Creator Series will be available for download for a few months.
The 3 colorways consist of Sjo, Pho and SJOxPHO.
Plans for an SF(May) and LA (Sept) art show/tour are in the works. All with local artists representing their respective cities. Each selected artist will receive a blank template to produce their own version of Thought Processor and create a 2d painting or drawing that goes along with the theme. During the show, 1 of each newly designed TP's will be displayed printed at 200% along with the 2d piece, all available for purchase. If you are like me and straight outta low cash, the series featured in the show will be on the net. The limited downloads from the featured artists will be on the site during the duration of the show, usually about a month. Keeping the shows local but also on a tour at the same time. All the time being easy on the environment/economy.
